Abstract:

One of a series of 81 lectures delivered by Arthur F. Holmes at Wheaton College in 1992. Explores the thoughts and writings of the American educational philosopher John Dewey. Considers Dewey's rejection of Descartes and foundationalism and examines his views on the importance of concrete experience. The first 10-15 minutes of the video wrap up some of Holmes' thoughts on William James from a previous lecture.
